Taiwan Scholarship 2025

Purpose
The Taiwan Scholarship supports international scholars and experts to conduct advanced research at Taiwanese universities or academic institutions. The program encourages the study of Taiwan, cross-strait relations, China, the Asia-Pacific, and broader Sinology topics — strengthening global academic exchange and mutual understanding.
Eligible Fields of Study
- Taiwan Studies
- Cross-Strait Relations
- Mainland China Studies
- Asia-Pacific Studies
- Other topics in Sinology (Humanities & Social Sciences)
Who Can Apply
- Foreign nationals holding positions as:
- Professors, Associate/Assistant Professors
- Research Fellows/Postdoctoral Researchers
- Doctoral Candidates or PhD Students
- Applicants must be affiliated with overseas universities or equivalent research institutions.
Fellowship Benefits
- Round-Trip Airfare
- One subsidized economy-class ticket from your home country to Taiwan (within limits).
- Monthly Stipend
- NT$60,000 for senior scholars (professors, research fellows)
- NT$50,000 for junior scholars (assistant professors, PhD students, postdocs)
- Duration
- Minimum: 3 months
- Maximum: 1 year
- Insurance
- Accident insurance coverage of NT$1,000,000
