Job Description
The role of a Trainee Engineer at Allied Engineering Services Ltd. is designed to provide structured training, field exposure, and technical engagement in the company’s Machinery, Handling Equipment (MHE), and Cranes segment. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Lahore, ideal for recent graduates who are enthusiastic about working on real engineering challenges from day one.
As a Trainee Engineer, the selected candidate will be part of a high-performing team that deals with the deployment, maintenance, and performance optimization of industrial machinery and cranes used in multiple sectors such as construction, logistics, and infrastructure. You will work closely with senior engineers, project leads, and technical managers to learn about mechanical systems, machine diagnostics, customer support, and product commissioning.
The training program is split across three stages. The first phase involves classroom and product training, where trainees learn about mechanical components, Caterpillar engine systems, safety protocols, and customer service standards. The second phase includes rotational assignments across departments, such as workshop services, on-site maintenance, and parts support. This phase provides exposure to the various business functions that make up the Machinery and Cranes segment. The third phase is field-based, where the trainee is assigned real-world tasks under the guidance of a senior engineer.
Key responsibilities during the training and post-training period include:
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery, ensuring that all safety and performance parameters are met.
- Conducting routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical faults in machines and cranes.
- Providing technical support to customers on-site and off-site.
- Collaborating with parts and service teams to ensure the timely availability of spare parts and maintenance kits.
- Preparing technical reports, service logs, and client feedback documentation.
- Participating in quality audits and implementing corrective actions to improve service delivery.
- Learning and applying diagnostic tools and software used in machine monitoring and performance analysis.
- Understanding the company’s product line, warranties, maintenance agreements, and customer care policies.
- Adhering to all safety and compliance regulations set by AESL and its international partners.
Throughout the training period, trainees are regularly assessed based on their technical understanding, problem-solving skills, communication with clients, and adherence to safety protocols. Exceptional performers are offered permanent placements within the department and may also be considered for future leadership development programs.
By the end of the program, the Trainee Engineer will have gained substantial knowledge of mechanical systems, an understanding of field service operations, and the ability to work independently on technical assignments. The role is particularly well-suited for graduates who are eager to build a career in mechanical engineering, field operations, or service support within a multinational-standard industrial environment.
