Job Description
The position of Trainee OEM at Kaizen Paint Pvt. Ltd. is a full-time opportunity for fresh graduates to step into the world of automotive coatings and OEM project management. This role is a blend of technical learning, cross-functional exposure, and hands-on involvement in a high-paced, client-driven environment. It’s not just a desk job—it involves interaction with engineering teams, production units, quality assurance specialists, and sometimes directly with automotive clients.
The primary objective of the role is to support the Automotive OEM Department in delivering products, processes, and services that meet or exceed client expectations. The selected candidate will be closely mentored and coached by experienced engineers and project managers, and will gradually take on independent responsibilities as they gain confidence and knowledge.
Key responsibilities in this position include:
- Assisting in managing the lifecycle of OEM projects, from initiation and planning to execution and post-delivery evaluation.
- Participating in the technical application of coatings on automotive components, including surface preparation, spray application, drying, and curing.
- Supporting the quality assurance team in sample testing, defect identification, and analysis of customer feedback.
- Working with the product development team to review new formulations and their applicability in real-world automotive scenarios.
- Gathering and analyzing data related to paint performance, including durability, finish quality, drying time, and environmental resistance.
- Preparing technical documentation and maintaining records for project milestones, product testing, client feedback, and formulation trials.
- Collaborating with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished products for customer orders.
- Conducting field research to understand market needs, competitor offerings, and technology trends in automotive coatings.
This is a learning-intensive role, and the company expects candidates to be curious, proactive, and detail-oriented. The work environment encourages questions, experimentation, and continuous feedback. No two days are the same, and the role requires flexibility to handle both routine tasks and unexpected challenges that arise during client or project engagements.
One of the unique aspects of this role is the exposure it provides to the entire value chain of automotive coatings. From product development to field application, from process testing to customer engagement—Trainee OEMs get to witness and contribute to the entire cycle. This is particularly valuable for graduates who want a 360-degree understanding of how technical skills are applied in real business environments.
The training period typically spans 6 to 12 months, during which the trainee is evaluated through performance reviews, project assessments, and peer feedback. High-performing trainees are often offered permanent roles in departments such as Product Engineering, Technical Sales, Operations, or R&D. The company has a strong track record of promoting from within and actively invests in the development of young professionals.
The candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Department Head and will have regular interactions with product managers, senior engineers, and quality control officers. This provides an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and understand how cross-departmental collaboration drives innovation and customer satisfaction.
In summary, this role is ideal for a recent graduate who wants to combine engineering knowledge with practical exposure, project coordination, and customer-centric work. It offers a strong foundation for a long-term career in the automotive or manufacturing sector.
